Annual cervical cancer screening is essential

Cervical cancer is the second most common gynecologic malignancy: 50,000 new cases per year worldwide. In addition, there are 1,000,000 cases of high grade precancerous lesions and 3,000,000 cases of low grade precancerous lesions. China accounts for 1/5 of the world’s new cases each year, about 10,0000 cases, and 3,0000 deaths from cervical cancer. Precancerous lesions and early stage cancers of the cervix can be cured but often have no clinical symptoms, so it is important to have annual cervical cytology (Pap smear or TCT) and appropriate high-risk HPV screening. It is recommended that fellow women must pay attention to their health, cherish their lives, and have annual cervical disease screening.
