Gum enlargement is not recommended to be treated with folk remedies because on one hand the effect is unknown and on the other hand it may lead to aggravation of the condition and cause other gum diseases.
Usually, the treatment of gum enlargement is based on the principle of thorough removal of plaque and calculus. Self-relief can be achieved by paying attention to oral hygiene and regular brushing; it can also be treated by scaling and subgingival scraping. If it is caused by a clear etiology, such as periapical lesions of the dental pulp, in addition to anti-inflammatory drugs to relieve pain, corresponding endodontic treatment is feasible.
Therefore, gingival hyperplasia should also be promptly examined and treated for a clear cause.
