A few questions about surgery for tetralogy of Fallot

  1, the current domestic clinical practice that the radical surgery should generally be completed within 1 year (also proposed 6 months), so that the long-term results are good, less complications. In foreign countries, the age of surgery is 4-6 weeks.       2. If the child has anoxic attacks, there is no age limit for surgery, and early surgery is needed to save life.  3. Indications for radical surgery (one of them): McGoon index > 1.1 (1.5), which varies according to the method and experience of each hospital.  4.Small left ventricle is not a contraindication to radical surgery, but the risk increases in the perioperative period.  5. The success rate of surgery for the domestic law tetralogy of Fallot is currently about 98%.  6.Small McGoon’s index requires staged surgery.  7. Most children can grow and develop normally after radical surgery.
