It is normal for infants within one year of age to lose urine at night because their nervous system is not well developed, and after one year of age, as the body develops, nighttime urine loss will gradually decrease. If an infant cannot control urination during the day or cannot wake up from sleep to urinate voluntarily after the age of 3, this is pathological enuresis. There are two types of enuresis: enuresis, which is a symptom of organic pathology, such as neurological damage, occupational lesions of related organs, malformations (spina bifida, cerebrospinal bulge), and inflammatory diseases. Asymptomatic bacteriuria and hypercalciuria can also cause enuresis and should be brought to the attention of people. The symptoms of enuresis will improve or disappear if the primary cause is actively treated. The second refers to enuresis, which is commonly known as bedwetting; it is mostly due to immature development of the nervous system or incoordination of neurological functions, with a family tendency, and no genetic evidence has been found. Current treatment status The treatment of bedwetting is divided into medication, physical therapy and device correction. Traditional Chinese medicine has a long history of treatment for enuresis, with precise efficacy and no obvious toxic side effects, and has its own unique features. According to the evidence, Chinese medicine treatment can be divided into the evidence types of deficiency cold in the lower jiao, deficiency of lung and spleen qi, and damp heat in the liver meridian. Accordingly, we can treat them with the addition and subtraction of mulberry cuttlebone, tonifying middle-heart and benefit qi soup, and eight-right san, respectively. From the clinical application, as long as the evidence is accurate, insist on taking it, the efficacy is exact and the effect is remarkable. In recent years, our hospital has applied umbilical therapy to treat enuresis and has made some promising progress. Umbilical therapy refers to the method of making suitable dosage forms of drugs, such as paste, powder, pill, cream, etc., and applying them to the umbilicus to treat diseases. It is especially suitable for children. This method is easy to use and has the advantages of good curative effect and no toxic side effects. For older patients who can cooperate, moxibustion can be added to treat the effect better. Physical therapy can also be applied to treat bedwetting, including acupuncture, acupuncture point injection, massage and acupuncture point treatment. Although all have some effect, it is difficult to adapt to these methods because the patients are mostly children. However, for adults or older children, physical therapy can be an effective method. For adults or children over 12 years old who have not been cured by various methods, Chinese medicine physiotherapy such as point therapy can achieve satisfactory results. Bedwetting is rarely corrected in China, but in the United States, it is corrected with a nighttime urinary alarm. It is through a long period of “bedwetting is woken up”, forming a kind of conditioned reflex, to achieve the purpose of treatment. The treatment usually takes more than six months. What are the preventive measures for bedwetting in children? 1, diet, dinner is best to avoid eating liquid or drink a lot of soup, after the meal fruit also should not eat watermelon, orange, raw pear and other water-rich fruits. Two hours before bedtime, do not drink too much water or eat fruits that contain more water, and ask your child to empty the urine before going to bed. 2, let the child sleep on time every day, should not be too teasing before bedtime, should not do strenuous activities or too excited games, should not watch stimulating films and videos, so as not to overexcite the brain, promoting bedwetting at night. 3, living life should be regular, avoid excessive fatigue and mental tension during the day, so as not to be too tired, sleep too deeply at night, not easy to wake up when there is urine, and not easy to be awakened by parents. 4.Parents should urge their children to drink more water during the day, and try to extend the interval between urination, so as to promote the increase of urine volume, and train children to hold urine properly to improve bladder control. 5.Bedwetting will make the child shy, cower and have low self-esteem. If parents do not take into account the child’s self-esteem, the use of reprimand, scolding, threats and even physical punishment, will make the child more nervous, aggrieved and depressed, often in a sincere fear, will lead to the aggravation of symptoms. In this way bedwetting is no longer simply a disease, because, it also affects the development of the child’s self-esteem and parents need to pay attention to it. So do not blame and scold the child, but give encouragement so that the affected child has the confidence to heal. Dietary management of enuresis Dietary therapy has been used for thousands of years to cure diseases, and pediatric enuresis can also be cured with dietary therapy. The following is a dietary formula for the treatment of pediatric enuresis. Pig bladder porridge: 1 pig bladder (i.e. pig bladder), dried, 10 grams of mulberry cuttlebone, 30 grams of black beans, 15 grams of puzzle nuts. Finely grind together, with glutinous rice 100 grams of porridge, mix in the orthodontic products, eat several times a day, and use for 7 days.
