There is growing scientific evidence that this new coronavirus originated in bats. The key question is that the bat virus cannot directly infect humans under normal conditions, but may infect humans through an “intermediate host”. The question now is, who is the “intermediate host”? There are scientific research papers and popular social statements that point to “intermediate hosts” as animals such as snakes and jackals, which need to be further confirmed. In fact, the determination of the “intermediate host” requires a rigorous and recognized scientific process and cannot be easily concluded.
