When does the glans adapt after circumcision surgery

The time when the glans adapts after the operation of the prepuce is mainly related to the individual situation of the patient, and the exact time cannot be specified and cannot be generalized. Due to the existence of the prepuce, the glans is always in a wrapped state and its sensitivity is high. After circumcision surgery, the glans is more sensitive to external stimuli and needs a period of adaptation, which is a common phenomenon after surgery and the exact time varies from person to person. Usually patients need to adapt for at least 1-2 months, and some patients may need about six months for the abnormal sensation and sensitivity of the glans to gradually decrease. In addition, after surgery, patients need to pay attention to the glans for inflammatory reactions such as redness, swelling and pain, exudate, etc. If necessary, they should promptly seek medical review to clarify the presence of infection and apply antibiotics as prescribed by the doctor for preventive treatment. Patients need to pay attention to keep the wound dry and avoid getting wet after the surgery, and it is recommended not to eat spicy and stimulating food for 2 weeks to avoid stimulating the wound and prolonging the recovery time.
