In clinical practice, minimally invasive surgery is available for brain cysts, but it is important to note that there are both advantages and disadvantages to minimally invasive surgery. The advantage is that it is relatively less traumatic for the patient, but the disadvantage is that the true membranous structure of the arachnoid cyst is not removed, which can easily lead to recurrence. In clinical practice, for older people, who do not have a long life expectancy and are in relatively poor health, minimally invasive puncture and drainage surgery can be used to effectively treat the cyst, which is relatively recurrence-free. But for young people, who have a long life expectancy, patients should still undergo craniotomy to remove the cystic membranous structure completely in order to reduce the risk of recurrence later.
