Dietary notes for liver cancer patients

  1. Encourage usual vegetables and fruits: consumption of fruits and vegetables by liver cancer patients can supplement the vitamins and trace elements needed by human body. Because vitamins A, C, E and K have certain auxiliary anti-tumor effects. Vitamin C is mainly found in fresh vegetables and fruits. Carotene can be converted into vitamin A after entering the body, so liver cancer patients should eat more animal liver, carrots, cauliflower, yellow flower lei, cabbage, figs, dates and so on. Meanwhile, they should also eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, such as radish, pumpkin, bamboo shoots, asparagus, apple, umeboshi, kiwi, etc. Liver cancer patients consume a lot and must ensure sufficient nutrition. The easiest way to measure the nutritional status of patients is whether they can maintain their body weight. The best way to maintain normal weight is to maintain a balanced diet, which requires patients to eat more fresh vegetables, and half of them should be green leafy vegetables.  2. Limit salt and do not drink alcohol. Especially, we oppose excessive drinking of alcohol. For liver cancer patients, alcohol should be absolutely prohibited.  3.Meat food. The intake of red meat (referring to beef, lamb, pork and their products) should be low, and it is better to choose fish, poultry or meat from non-domestic animals; restrict foods with high fat content, especially animal fat, and vegetable oil should also be moderate.  4.Food preparation and cooking: cook meat and fish at a lower temperature when eating them, don’t consume burnt meat and fish, and don’t often consume sizzling, smoked and smoked meat and fish; liver cancer patients should abstain from eating these things.  5.Try your best to reduce the contamination of food by mold, and avoid consuming food contaminated by mycotoxin or stored at room temperature for a long time; because some moldy food is easy to cause cancer, and consuming deteriorated food is very dangerous for liver cancer patients.  Therefore, patients with liver cancer should eat easily digestible food and use plant staple foods rich in starch and protein. They should also try to eat roughly processed food, such as sour plum soup, fresh orange juice, fruit juice, ginger candy water, noodle soup, fresh millet porridge, etc., to help digestion and relieve pain. Patients with liver cancer often suffer from nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite. It is advisable for patients to choose some coarse grains, which can well supplement the minerals needed by human body.  7.Patients with hepatocellular carcinoma mostly suffer from general weakness, soreness and weakness of limbs and poor sweating due to injury to qi and blood, so they should mainly benefit qi and nourish blood. Carp soup, black chicken soup, ginseng tea, cinnamon, silver fungus and turtle can be consumed, and hard and cold food should be avoided.  8.Patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma are mostly in a state of general exhaustion and have difficulty in eating, so they should be supported.
