Is right shoulder pain liver cancer?

Pain in the right shoulder may be caused by liver cancer or other diseases. Right shoulder pain is a common clinical manifestation and is non-specific. Patients with hepatocellular carcinoma often have pain in the right upper abdomen due to irritation of the liver peritoneum or gallbladder by the cancer mass. This right upper abdominal pain may also radiate to the right shoulder, causing right shoulder pain. This kind of pain radiating from one part to the neighboring parts is called radiating pain in clinical practice. In addition to radiating pain in the right shoulder caused by liver cancer, bone metastasis in the shoulder in advanced liver cancer will also cause pain in the right shoulder, which is called metastatic bone pain. Besides liver cancer, metastatic cancer of the liver, such as lung cancer and breast cancer metastasizing to the liver, will also cause radiating pain in the right shoulder. Benign diseases of the liver and gallbladder, such as acute cholecystitis, gallbladder stones and infection, can also cause radiating pain in the right shoulder. Therefore, right shoulder pain is not a specific manifestation of liver cancer, but can be seen in many other diseases, which can be distinguished only after completing various examinations.
