What is male pseudoacanthosis

Male pseudoacanthomas are a group of diseases that include penile pearly papules and parapapapillary papules, which are easily confused with acromegaly in the clinical diagnosis. The pearly penile papules are often seen in young men and occur mainly at the junction of the glans and coronal sulcus or at the tethered area, manifesting as 1-3mm sized papules with rounded and smooth tips, hairy or filiform, not fused with each other, in rows or multiple rows, more obvious on the dorsal side of the glans, which can partially or completely surround the glans. The pathogenesis of pearly papules is still unclear, but the patient’s long foreskin, poor local hygiene, and the long-term stimulation of coronal secretions and dirt may all be related to its development. The pearl-like papules are benign diseases and can be self-limiting. If you need treatment, you can consider laser treatment, and if you have a recurrence after laser treatment, and if the patient is also circumcised, it is recommended to perform circumcision.
