How to treat 5mm kidney stones

For 5mm kidney stones, conservative stone removal treatment can be performed. Patients should keep drinking more than 2500ml of water every day, and at the same time, they can do longitudinal exercises, such as running and jumping, playing basketball, and going up and down stairs, which can facilitate the discharge of stones. Stones with a diameter of about 5 mm can pass through the narrowest part of the ureter, and conservative stone removal treatment is clinically recommended. If a patient has a history of urinary tract infection or stones, and a urinary tract ultrasound reveals hydronephrosis, it may be secondary to ureteral stenosis, in which case the patient can undergo urography to clarify whether there is ureteral stenosis. When the ureter is patent, conservative stone removal can be performed in this case. If there is ureteral stenosis, the ureteral stenosis should be dilated to expel the stone.
