Many of our outpatients come from overseas, and travel is inconvenient. Many of them are unable to get a definite answer after a long delay in the clinic, which adds up to a lot of work, so it will save you a lot of time if you have the following information before your visit: 1. Ultrasound of the thyroid gland: Ultrasound is the main means of examining thyroid nodules, according to which the doctor can roughly determine whether the nodules are benign or malignant, and thus give the next step in treatment. Ultrasound is a highly subjective test, and different ultrasound doctors reach different conclusions, and the value of the descriptive text they give varies. Most of the ultrasound instruments now have a photographic function, which allows them to take pictures of thyroid nodules, and the pictures are more objective and of great reference value. Therefore, it is important to prepare an ultrasound examination with a clear and multi-angle picture of the thyroid nodule before the consultation. 2. Thyroid function tests (FT3, FT4, TSH): Thyroid nodules mostly do not affect thyroid function, but thyroid nodules with diseases such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis have the best thyroid function tests for a clear diagnosis. 3. For patients who may be treated surgically, if you are insured by the New Agricultural Cooperative Medical Insurance, please bring your medical insurance book and make the best referral if you can. If you are a local employee, please ask about the reimbursement process and make a referral if necessary.
