The application of holistic concepts of Chinese medicine in the prevention of airborne infectious diseases

The concept of holistic concept in Chinese medicine is unity and integrity. Chinese medicine attaches importance to the unity and integrity of the human body and its interrelationship with the natural world, and believes that the human body is an organic whole, and that the various components of the human body are inseparable in structure, coordinated and complementary in function, and affect each other in pathology. Moreover, the human body is inseparable from nature, and the changes in nature affect the human body at any time, while human beings maintain normal life activities in the process of adapting to nature and transforming it dynamically. This idea of the unity of the body itself and the internal and external environment is the holistic concept. The holistic concept is the embodiment of ancient Chinese materialism and dialectical thinking in Chinese medicine; it is applied to all aspects of Chinese medicine, including physiology, pathology, diagnosis, identification and treatment, and has a profound influence on the health care, prevention and treatment of various clinical diseases. 1 The human body is an organic whole The holistic concept believes that the normal physiological activities of the human body rely on the internal organs to play their functional role on the one hand, and on the other hand, rely on the synergy between the internal organs to maintain their physiological balance. Each internal organ has its own different function, but it is the division of labor and cooperation and organic cooperation under the overall activity, which is the unity of the human body’s local and overall. Due to the interconnection and mutual influence of organs, tissues and organs in physiology and pathology, the pathological changes in a certain part of the human body are often related to the internal organs, qi and blood, and yin and yang of the whole body, so when understanding and analyzing the pathological conditions of diseases, Chinese medicine also starts from the whole, unifies the local pathological changes with the overall pathological reactions, and in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, through the external changes of the face, body, tongue, pulse, etc., to understand and judge its In the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, the external changes of the face, body, tongue and pulse are used to understand and judge the internal pathology, forming the unique four diagnoses of looking, smelling, asking and cutting, and the diagnosis method and etiology of the external and internal examination of the causes. The holistic concept emphasizes the overall coordination and unity of the internal and external environment of the human body, and considers the human body as an organic whole, emphasizing both the unity of the internal environment of the human body and the unity of the human and external environment. The so-called external environment refers to the natural and social environment in which human beings exist. Chinese medicine, based on the simple materialism of “heaven and man in one breath”, uses the knowledge of natural sciences such as medicine, astronomy and meteorology to prove and enrich the unity of heaven and man. The concept of the unity of heaven and man, which is “man and heaven and earth” (Su Wen – Cough Theory), was proposed, stating that man and nature have a unified origin and attributes, that man is born in nature, and that the laws of human life activities are inevitably regulated and influenced by nature. Heaven and earth are the base of the origin of life, and the opposing and unified movement of the yin and yang of heaven and earth provides the most suitable environment for the creation of life. Therefore, the “Suwen” said: “Lady was born on the earth, hanging on the sky, heaven and earth together, the fate of the said man” [1]. Human physiology and pathology, growth and old have been activities with the natural climate and environment of the four seasons, such as day and night and other natural conditions change accordingly, the four seasons of the year, the climate shows a spring temperature, summer heat, autumn dryness, winter cold rhythmic changes, human physiological function by the four seasons of the climate and corresponding adaptive changes, such as hot weather, the qi and blood run faster, the couples open and open, sweat; cold weather, the qi and blood The couples of the run sluggish, solid and dense, sweat does not. Human morbidity is also affected by the four climatic seasons, such as seasonal diseases or seasonal epidemics have a clear seasonal tendency, such as (Suwen Jin Kui Zhen Shu) said: “spring good disease epistaxis, midsummer good disease chest, long summer good disease hole drainage cold, autumn good disease wind malaria, winter good paralysis syncope” [2]. In addition, day and night, morning and evening, geographical environment, etc. can affect the physiology and pathology of the human body, and also play a certain impact on the prevention and treatment of disease, while people live in the social environment, social and ecological changes have a close relationship with the physical and mental health of people and the occurrence of disease. Differences in social roles and status, as well as changes in the social environment, also affect people’s psychosomatic functions and the composition of the disease spectrum. Second, the holistic concept and the view of pathogenesis Pathogenesis is a contradictory struggle between the damage of disease and evil and the resistance of positive energy to damage. The holistic concept of Chinese medicine regards human being as a part of the natural, social and regional environment, and is influenced by external natural climate and social environment as well as internal organs, physiology and psychology, etc. The pathogenesis of human body cannot be separated from the balance and changes of the above factors. According to TCM theory, the occurrence of disease is a process of struggle between good and evil, and positive energy refers to the physiological functions of the human body, mainly its ability to adapt to the external environment, its ability to resist evil and its ability to recover, referred to as “positive”. The scope of positive qi is very broad, all that is conducive to the healing of disease and the health of the body can be called positive qi, such as the body’s yang qi, fluids, qi and blood, spleen and stomach function, kidney qi and guard qi and ying qi, etc. are all part of positive qi. Evil Qi refers to all kinds of disease-causing factors, or “evil” for short. Evil Qi includes not only six kinds of perversions, tropical diseases, inappropriate diet, internal injuries of the seven emotions, injuries caused by labor and leisure, trauma, parasites, insects and animals, but also includes pathological metabolites produced inside the body, such as phlegm and drinks, blood stasis, persistent food, and the five internal evils. The meaning of good and evil is relative according to whether it is beneficial to human health or not. Generally, natural climate is beneficial to human body and becomes a necessary factor for human health and is considered as positive qi, while sometimes it becomes evil qi due to its pathogenic nature. For example, the normal natural climate, to which the human body is compatible, is called “clear sun”, “weather” and “the qi of the sky” in the Nei Jing, and the human body survives in this natural environment and climate. The human body survives healthily under these natural environmental and climatic conditions, and these climatic conditions become a necessary factor for human health and normal physiological functions of the human body, so they can be regarded as a part of the positive energy of the human body, and “the weather passes through the lungs”, which is dominated by the lungs; while abnormal climates, which change drastically and do not coincide with the seasons, when the temperature is not warm, when the heat is not hot, become the six evil spirits that cause diseases; and also such as If we eat too much, if we are too hungry and too full, if we have too many emotions, it can lead to the accumulation of food and Qi stagnation, and it can damage the five organs and become a disease-causing evil qi. Deficiency of positive qi and prevalence of evil qi are the necessary conditions for the onset of the disease, one without the other. It is the basic principle of the concept of pathogenesis in Chinese medicine that when the positive qi is deficient, the evil qi will take advantage of the deficiency to develop. This is what is stated in Su Wen – Treatise on the Method of Pricking: “When the righteousness exists within, the evil cannot dry up” and Su Wen – Treatise on the Evaluation of Heat Diseases: “When the evil comes together, its qi must be deficient.” This theory of etiology and pathogenesis, which is based on the theory of positive and evil, is of great significance to the understanding of diseases. The reason why external evil causes disease is based on the deficiency of the body’s positive energy. For example, the “spiritual pivot – the beginning of all diseases”: “wind and rain, cold and heat, can not be deficient evil, can not hurt alone, …… this must be because of the wind of deficient evil, and its body shape, the two deficient phase, is the guest of its shape” [3]. The role of positive qi is mainly manifested in the elimination of evil and its own repair and adjustment ability, and the latter is more important, for the invasion of evil and the body’s yin and Yang imbalance, visceral damage and other physiological malfunctions, through the repair, adjustment and replenishment of positive qi, so that the disease can be cured; Chinese medicine emphasizes the support of positive qi at the same time also pay attention to the elimination of evil and avoidance of evil, such as “Suwen – five permanent political grand theory” cloud. “The treatment of great poisons is to remove six out of ten; the treatment of regular poisons is to remove seven out of ten” [4], “Su Wen – Shang Gu Tian Zhen Lun”: “The avoidance of deficient evil and thieving wind is sometimes” [5], under special circumstances, evil can also become the main factor of morbidity, for example, “Su Wen – Stabbing Method” cloud. For example, “The five epidemics are all similar to each other, regardless of their size, and the symptoms of the disease are similar” [6], which indicates that under certain conditions, evil qi also plays a leading role in the pathogenesis, because the evil qi is so strong that it exceeds the ability of the positive qi to resist evil and can also cause disease. In such cases, the main focus should be on eliminating the evil and at the same time supporting the positive. 2 imbalance of yin and yang The doctrine of yin and yang is a guiding principle throughout the whole process of TCM theory, prescription and medicine, and is used in pathogenesis, it is believed that a normal person has a healthy yin and yang secret, in the pathological state, if yin is strong, yang will be sick, if yang is strong, yin will be sick, an imbalance of yin and yang will be sick, Su Wen – Yin and Yang Ying Xiang Da Lun: “If yin wins, yang will be sick, if yang wins, yin will be sick. If yang prevails, there will be heat, and if yin prevails, there will be cold” [7]. Yin Sheng refers to the pathological changes of the body in which yin energy is in abundance, dysfunction or decreases, and the accumulation of yin and cold as well as pathological metabolites. Yin Sheng is cold refers to the actual cold evidence of yin Sheng and yang deficiency due to the feeling of cold and dampness or excessive consumption of cold and raw food, resulting in yang not controlling yin and yin and cold. Yang Sheng is the pathological changes of hyperactive yang energy in the body, hyperfunctioning of the internal organs and meridians, and overheating of evil heat. Yang Sheng then heat is mostly the result of Yang Sheng but not Yin deficiency of real heat evidence, Yin Sheng then cold, Yang Sheng then heat appeared in the real cold evidence and real heat evidence from the perspective of the struggle between positive and evil is the result of the overabundance of evil. The occurrence of disease is regarded as a product of the combination of internal and external pathogenic factors, a concept that originates from the “Inner Path” theory of the correspondence between heaven and man and the multiplication of positive deficiency and evil. Human morbidity is related to abnormal changes in climate, abnormal changes in climate often become disease-causing evil, this is the deficiency of evil, people who are deficient feel the deficiency of evil, internal and external two deficiencies are susceptible to morbidity, such as “Su Wen – eight Zheng Shen Ming theory” cloud: “eight Zheng of the deficiency of evil, and avoid the do not offend, to the body’s deficiency, and meet the sky’s deficiency, the two deficiencies of the feeling, its gas to the bone, into the wound five organs ” [8]. Physique belongs to the body’s intrinsic pathogenic factors, the physique often determines the susceptibility to external evil, and the nature of the onset of disease after feeling evil, different types of physique, susceptibility to the six malaise is also different. For example, in “Yin and Yang: Twenty-five People”, it is pointed out that people in the shape of wood and fire are “capable of spring and summer but not of autumn and winter, and they get sick in autumn and winter”, while people in the shape of earth, water and gold are “capable of autumn and winter but not of spring and summer, and they get sick in spring and summer” [9]. The clinical manifestations of the same disease can be different for different body types, and different body types and internal factors can be selective for the external evil, as stated in the Qing Dynasty’s Wu Dehan’s “Medical Science Series – Jinsha Jue Hou”: “To know that those who are prone to wind as a disease have a deficiency of surface qi; those who are prone to cold as a disease have a weak yang qi; those who are prone to heat as a disease have a weak yin qi; those who are prone to food injury have a loss of spleen and stomach; those who are prone to labor injury have a loss of middle qi “. The internal and external corresponding pathogenesis view is to distinguish the internal and external causes of disease from the perspective of the interconnection between human and nature, in essence, the overall concept in human pathogenesis attaches importance to the embodiment of internal and external pathogenic factors in the human body, emphasizing both the positive qi in the human body and the physique formed by successive factors over time, and also the impact of various pathogenic factors outside the human body on the human body. Chinese medicine believes that the function of the internal organs of the human body is and is valuable, “Yin and Yang secret, the spirit is to cure”, if overuse or underuse are prone to disease, overuse of disease from the “Su Wen – meridians and veins of the other chapter”: “Therefore, spring, autumn and winter, the four times of yin and Yang, sickness starts from overuse, this is also common [10]. “. ZhangJiabin “sixteen volumes of the class of the class of disease fifty-three” note: “five organs by the gas, strength and weakness of each of the normal degree, if reluctant overuse, will damage its true, is the cause of a hundred diseases also. That is, the human body organs, meridians, qi and blood functional activities and regulatory capacity has a certain limit, a variety of internal or external factors on the body’s influence exceeds the body’s own regulatory capacity, will lead to disease. Not and cause disease, one refers to the human organs and viscera yin and Yang Qi and blood deficiency or functional activity is weakened, become the cause of disease, such as the “Su Wen – regulation of the meridian” cloud: “Yin deficiency of internal heat Nai He. Qibo said: there is labor and fatigue, the shape of the gas is weak, the grain is not strong, the upper jiao does not work, the lower cavity is not accessible, and the stomach heat, heat smoked in the chest, so internal heat [11]. Another example is the “Ling Shu・Five Changes” said: “people have a regular disease, but also because their bones and skin couples are not strong, the evil of the house, so often for the disease also …… meat is not strong, the couples are sparse, then good disease wind [12]”. Secondly, the six qi for the disease in one of the qi transport can also cause disease, such as gold transport can not cause the gold can not control wood, liver wood multiplied, transverse offense spleen, liver and spleen is not in harmony, liver and stomach vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, panacid evidence, autumn gold when the order of the time, the slaughter of the gas is not enough, the weather against warm, wood against gold, it can be seen in the chest stagnation, phlegm paralysis, lung gas on the reverse of the dry mouth and throat, coughing, even the gas reversal and panting can not The third, over-exposure to disease can also lead to illness. Thirdly, over-exposure to disease can also be classified as a cause of disease. For example, “long lying injury qi, long sitting injury meat, long standing injury bone, long walking injury tendon [13]”, where the long standing, long behavior overwork, and long sitting, long lying is over-ease, is due to the body of a visceral tissue function is not enough to cause the overall dysfunction and cause disease. Third, the overall concept to guide the prevention of airborne infectious diseases pathogenic microorganisms can be transmitted through direct contact, indirect contact, air, water, food and other ways, of which air is an important way of transmission of pathogenic microorganisms, more than 14 kinds of infectious diseases in the world through airborne [14], new airborne infectious diseases from time to time and epidemic, the 2003 severe acute respiratory syndrome ( The Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) that occurred in 2003 was transmitted by airborne droplets in close proximity as the main transmission route. The common airborne infectious diseases include influenza, epidemic B encephalitis, measles, rubella, human highly pathogenic avian influenza, pertussis, diphtheria, scarlet fever, chickenpox, tuberculosis, pulmonary anthrax, EBV infection, plague, hand, foot and mouth disease, Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia, etc. The pathogenic viruses, bacteria, mycoplasma, etc., but from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, their pathogenesis has common features, one is that the disease can be classified as a fever or First, the disease can be classified as a fever or warm disease, and all have fever symptoms; second, they all have the manifestation of external evil “first offending the lung” or the surface of the body: sore throat or cough, bad cold, body pain, runny nose and other manifestations; third, the onset of the disease has the basis of internal injury (or injury to the right or internal generation of five evils). Therefore, the primary prevention of such infectious diseases is to ward off (dispel) the evil, followed by supporting the righteousness. The first way to avoid evil is to disinfect the air. Air disinfection is the most effective and direct way to cut off the transmission of airborne pathogenic microorganisms and to prevent and control infections and diseases. The most common methods of air disinfection are physical, chemical and herbal disinfection. Although chemical disinfectants are diverse, most of them have toxic side effects; laminar flow equipment and other expensive, which limit the promotion and application to varying degrees [15, 16]. Herbal air disinfection products are gaining increasing attention for their advantages such as natural, non-toxic, safe, and suitable for environments with high personnel density and easy contamination. The prevention of airborne infectious diseases is guided by a holistic concept, which can be divided into four aspects: following the four seasons to the whole form, regulating the essence to guard the spirit, working on the treatment of the untreated disease, and avoiding evil and dispelling evil, so that the combination of supporting the righteous and avoiding evil can better play the effect of disease prevention and treatment. 1 Shun four seasons to the whole shape of health and disease prevention first of all, is to comply with the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter changes, Chinese medicine believes that to study the relationship between the four seasons and health and disease prevention, we must first understand the environment of human survival, life in heaven and earth, according to the natural laws of spring, summer, autumn and winter, to complete the whole process of growth, strong and old has been, Chinese medicine believes that people law of nature, according to the four seasons of spring temperature, summer heat, autumn cool, winter cold law of health, you can reduce the The occurrence of diseases can be reduced. The Suwen Shanggu Tianzhen Lun” cloud: “false evil thief wind, avoid sometimes [5]”, false evil thief wind is in the seasonal abnormalities, Chinese medicine is called false evil thief wind, will lead to the occurrence of human disease, agricultural proverb: “winter is not cold, summer is not hot, sooner or later to sit sick”, means that the climate abnormalities will lead to disease. It means that the abnormal climate will lead to disease, winter because the qi and blood is to avoid hiding, if it is too hot at this time, let the qi and blood are dissipated, is the Chinese medicine said winter does not hide essence, to spring will be sick plague. Spring wind, summer heat, long summer humidity, autumn dryness, winter cold, etc. are the basic types of natural weather, the six gases change due to the four seasons, and the “six obscene” also have their own main time, spring more wind disease, summer more summer disease, late summer and early autumn more wet disease, late autumn more dry disease, winter more cold disease. The human body should follow the four seasons of climate change and health, action to protect the cold, Yin place to avoid the summer, no delusion to work, diet, living in a regular manner, spring and summer to nourish Yang, autumn and winter to nourish Yin, the law of nature, only the law of nature, according to the four seasons, suitable for cold and temperature, and the natural climate and environment to adapt to, people can coexist with all things and between heaven and earth, to be able to normal long survival, to live its natural life, and not to suffer from seasonal diseases and various epidemic disease risk. As stated in “Su Wen – Four Qi Tuning Shen Da Lun”, “Therefore, the four seasons of yin and yang are the essence of the life and death of all things. If you go against it, you will have disasters, but if you follow it, you will not have severe diseases, so it is called the way [17]. The human body itself is an organic whole, the limbs and bones and viscera functional activities are coordinated and unified, and within a certain group value of constant movement in an orderly manner, so that the body maintains a relative state of equilibrium, which is the internal homeostasis of the human body. This is the so-called “righteousness within”, “Yin and Yang secret”. The health of the body is not simply limited to the normalcy of the physiological functions of the body, but is also influenced by the mental and emotional factors, which is called “the unity of the form and the spirit” in Chinese medicine, and the normal mental and emotional activities are normal for human beings and not harmful. However, long-term persistent, sudden, strong mental and emotional stimulation, can disrupt the qi and blood, internal injury to the internal organs and cause disease, not only can cause certain diseases, but also in a fairly extensive impact on the occurrence and development of disease process. The concept of unity of form and spirit in Chinese medicine is consistent with the concept of health proposed by WHO in 1984, which is a classic definition of health: “Health is not only the absence of disease and infirmity, but also a state of complete physical, psychological and social adaptation [18]”. In order to maintain the unity of form and spirit, the coordination and stability of human physiology, psychology and social and natural adaptability, Chinese medicine emphasizes the need to regulate the spiritual form and body, the spirit of internal protection, nourishing both form and spirit, so as to maintain the balance of the internal homeostasis of the human body, as well as the coordination with the external environment of nature, to achieve the harmony between the internal and external homeostatic systems of the human body, the human body can live a long and healthy life. Mental health is an important guarantee of physical health, unhealthy psychological manifestations of materialism, indifference, vulgarity, restlessness tendency [19], mental health and physical health are closely related to each other as cause and effect. “The upper medicine three products, God and gas essence” (“High on the Jade Emperor Heart Seal Mythology”), essence, gas and spirit is both the three treasures of man and the three major treasures of health, it is the material and energy basis for the existence, movement and continuation of human life, accumulation of essence and full of God, full of God and full of gas, in order to nourish heavenly life. The method of nurturing the essence of the spirit, the “Nei Jing” gives a clear exposition, such as the “Su between the ancient days of truth,” said: “its know, the law in the yin and Yang, and in the art, diet, regular living, not delusional labor, so can be in shape with the spirit, …… false evil thief wind, to avoid the time, calm and empty, the real gas from the The spirit within the guard, the disease is safe from [5].” 3 Shang Gong treating the untreated disease “treating the untreated disease” is an important doctrine representing the characteristics and essence of Chinese medicine, reflecting the characteristics of Chinese medicine in health care and disease prevention and treatment “prevention is more important than cure”, its academic thinking originated in the “Su Wen – four qi tune Shen Da Lun”. “This is why the sages do not treat the sick to cure the unwell, and do not treat the chaos to cure the unrest. If the disease has become and then the medicine, chaos has become and then the cure, like thirst and wear well, bucket and cast cone, is not also late [20]. The “Jin Kui Yao” further developed the idea of “treating the untreated disease” in the Nei Jing and pointed out that “the person who treats the untreated disease, seeing the disease of the liver, knows that the liver transmits the spleen, when the spleen first [21].” The theory of “treating the untreated disease” in the Nei Jing is the earliest record of the strategic idea of “prevention-oriented” followed by the health sector in China so far, and has become the motto of preventive medicine in China [22]. The meaning of “not yet sick” includes two aspects: one refers to the healthy state of the individual’s yin and yang secret, qi and blood in harmony and not attacked by disease, that is, “no disease”; the second refers to the early stage of the onset or transmission of disease, the early symptoms of the disease is more hidden and light, that is “desire for disease”. The doctrine of “treating the undiseased” refers to, on the one hand, emphasizing health care and prevention of disease; on the other hand, emphasizing early diagnosis and treatment after the onset of disease, timely control of disease development, elimination of disease-causing factors, anticipation of disease progress, and prevention of aggravation or transmission of disease by first securing the place where the evil has not yet occurred. In the long-term medical practice, the theoretical system of “prevention before illness, prevention after illness and prevention after healing” has been gradually formed. Prevention is the core content of “treating the disease before it happens”. 3.1 Preventing diseases before they occur “Preventing diseases before they occur” coincides with the new medical model of “prevention-oriented” in modern times. It includes the rich contents of regulating and maintaining the essence, physical exercise, reasonable diet, timely health care and scientific medicine, etc. The disease prevention measures closely related to airborne infectious diseases mainly include maintaining the righteousness and active immunity. 3.1.1 Maintaining the vital energy The key to disease prevention and treatment lies in the vital energy of the human body, and the fundamental problem of health care lies in how to enrich and replenish the vital energy of the human body. The Nei Jing attaches great importance to the leading role of maintaining positive qi in health care, and clearly puts forward the view that “if positive qi exists within, evil cannot dry up”, and believes that all methods of health care should be based on the basic principle of protecting and improving positive qi in the human body. Adhering to this principle, we can achieve the goal of “no evil will come, longevity and longevity” and “the disease will come”. This is a fundamental preventive measure, mainly for healthy people or sub-healthy people, through the maintenance of positive energy, improve their own immune resistance, eliminate their own health risk factors, to resist external harmful factors. The air that is closely related to the human body is directly related to the health of the human body, clean air is refreshing, while dirty and toxic air, miasma can directly cause disease, traditional Chinese medicine practitioners have long recognized the importance of clean air, that “the weather, clear and bright, hide more than virtue” is conducive to human health, in order to breathe the clean and pleasant weather The four times of the day, advocating breathing and exhaling, exhaling the old and new, or to the mountains and water and woods, fresh air places to live, modern research shows that green plants have a number of functions, such as detoxification, oxygen, sterilization and negative ion rich. Green plant leaves have many stomata, can absorb a large number of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide and other toxic gases. The negative oxygen ion content in the forest air is 20 times higher than indoors. Negative oxygen ions are like vitamins in food, which are beneficial to the human respiratory system, nervous system and improve immunity. Studies have shown that when trees grow young leaves, they give off three organic substances with bactericidal effects, while many trees give off aromatic scents that also kill airborne germs and microorganisms [23]. The cypress tree, the longest of all trees, is particularly useful for air purification, and the aromatic gas emitted by the cypress tree has the effect of clearing heat and detoxifying, drying dampness and killing insects. It contains the chemical composition of woad and lemon terpene, these natural substances can not only kill bacteria, viruses, purify the air, but also has a relaxing effect on the human spirit, emotional stability. The large number of negative oxygen ions diffused in the cypress forest can improve human immune function, regulate respiratory and central nervous system, so it is also known as the “air vitamin” [24]. In order to achieve the purpose of air freshening, modern people have researched many air fresheners, which are composed of ethanol, fragrance, deionized water and other ingredients, and its role is to cover the odor by emitting fragrance, rather than reacting with the gas that causes odor in the air, that is, the effect of air fresheners does not remove the harmful gases in the air, it only relies on confusing people’s sense of smell to “lighten” the odor. Some air fresheners are also found to contain benzene (such as benzene, toluene, etc.) and other harmful gases, and some people are allergic to air fresheners, especially for some people who are allergic or allergic. The aromatic substances such as formaldehyde contained in air fresheners can stimulate the human nervous system and affect the growth and development of children, etc. So it seems that a healthy air purification method is urgently needed, and the traditional Chinese medicine method of using natural medicine to arouse obscenity and cool detoxification is undoubtedly an area worth looking forward to and exploring. 3.1.2 Active immunity Chinese medicine has accumulated many methods of active immunity to prevent infectious diseases in its long-term medical practice, for example, the Suwen・stabbing method theory has the prevention of epidemic infection, “How can the five epidemics of the to …… get not to move each other?” The answer is four kinds of prevention methods: one is “the sky mare from, again get it to, the gas out of the brain, that is, not evil dry” method of guidance and vomiting; two is “in the spring equinox day, the sun is not out and vomit” method of containing gargle; three is “after the rain, three bath to medicine to drain sweat”. Third, “after the rain, three baths to drain the sweat of medicine” method of medicine bath; fourth, “daily look east to suck the sun Hua gas a mouthful, ice water under a pill, and swallow the gas, and take ten capsules” method of taking small gold elixir [25]. It is basically consistent with the modern preventive measures to control the spread of infectious diseases, such as staying away from the source of infection, not being a susceptible group, early detection and early isolation. 3.2 Early treatment of pre-existing diseases The theory of “treating pre-existing diseases” in Chinese medicine is most often applied clinically or early treatment of pre-existing diseases. For example, in the book of “Suwen”, it is said that “if the liver is hot, the left cheek is first red; if the heart is hot, the face is first red; if the spleen is hot, the nose is first red; if the lung is hot, the right cheek is first red; if the kidney is hot, the chin is first red. The “not yet sick” here does not mean not yet sick, but at the beginning of the illness, when the illness is mild and superficial, or when there is only an aura, that is, when the illness is not yet in full bloom. At this time, the body is not decaying, the evil is not strong, if early diagnosis, early treatment, of course, the disease is easy to get rid of. This is the way of “upper work”, so “Ling Shu – official energy” chapter said: “upper work …… is to save its sprout; lower work to guard its already, because of the defeat of its form [27].” With this idea of “treating the untreated disease” and “saving its sprouts”, the treatment of infectious diseases with external influences should be carried out in the early stage of the disease, which is easy to cure, but if the disease is delayed until the late stage, it will be difficult to cure the disease, for example, “Su Wen – Yin Yang Ying Xiang Da Lun”] proposed : “the evil wind to, as fast as the wind and rain, so good treatment of the skin, followed by the skin, followed by the tendons, followed by the six internal organs, followed by the five organs. Treatment of the five organs, half death and half life [28].” 3.3 Prevention of change after the disease After the disease, the disease may develop from light to heavy, from superficial to deep, if the early diagnosis and treatment, intercept the transmission of the disease, the first place to prevent the deterioration of the disease, this is called “under the doctor to treat the disease of the disease”. 3.4 Prevention of relapse after healing After healing or stabilization, we should pay attention to the prevention of relapse and always grasp the “initiative” of health. Most of the patients are weak after the initial healing, which requires that the rehabilitation medical treatment should be done to eliminate the evil. In response to the pathological characteristics of the patient, such as the weakening of qi and blood, fluid deficiency, spleen and kidney deficiency, blood stasis and phlegm obstruction, comprehensive measures are taken to promote the normalization of the function of the internal organs and tissues as soon as possible, so as to achieve the purpose of eliminating the evil and healing the disease, supporting the righteousness, eliminating the root cause, avoiding the trigger, and not recurring the disease. For example, in the book “Su Wen – Treatise on Heat”, when discussing the care and diet of fever, it is pointed out: “What should we do when we have a fever? If the disease is less healed, eating meat will return, and eating more will be lost, this is also prohibited [29].” It suggests that at the beginning of the healing process, the remainder of the disease is not yet complete, the spleen and stomach are weak, and the stomach is not yet fully recovered, so pay attention to the regulation of diet to further support the righteousness and eliminate evil. 4 Avoiding evil and dispelling evil People should take the initiative to avoid “false evil and thieves’ wind” and stay away from all abnormal climate change and external pathogenic factors harmful to the human body. To avoid contact with harmful factors in the external environment and to prevent disease-causing factors from entering the human internal environment, this effective prevention of disease causes, ancient and modern medical practitioners have accumulated a lot of “avoiding poisonous gas” and “preventing plague” methods, which are worthy of in-depth study and exploration. 4.1 Ancient methods to avoid and dispel evil The ancient working people in the long-term struggle with disease in a set of methods to prevent disease and ward off evil, such as burning Cangzhu, burning mugwort, inserting dogwood and burning to dispel the plague incense, wearing incense sacs, etc., Changsha Mawangdui No. 1 Han tomb unearthed artifacts, four incense sacs and six silk bags, filled with catkin, cinnamon, pepper, pelargonium and other aromatic drugs. It shows that the ancestors already know how to disinfect by wearing incense pouches to avoid the spread of disease, and become customary and has been passed down in the folk [30]. Medical history documents recorded the prevention of warm epidemic methods with Chinese herbs burned smoke or made into soup spray for air disinfection, to smell the nose with drugs, wearing evil scented sacs, oral preventive medicine, etc. [31]. The “Yin People’s Fire Epidemic Prevention Chart” found in the Dunhuang Caves records the method of smoke disinfection [32]; the “Compendium of Materia Medica” also has a record on the use of herbs to burn smoke and fumigate to avoid plague and evil; the “Clinical Guide to Medicine” said: “Epidemic is a filthy gas, so the ancients drank aromatic and picked orchids to attack The famous Jin dynasty physician Ge Hong proposed more than 20 prescriptions to prevent and treat epidemics in the section of “The formula for treating miasma, epidemic, plague and warm poison”. In our folklore, there is the folklore of “hanging mugwort, drinking mugwort wine, eating mugwort cake, smoking mugwort smoke”, and the proverb of “the family has three years of mugwort, the doctor does not come”. It can be seen that moxa was once a household name and a medicine that everyone would use. Modern research shows that the smoke from burning mugwort leaves has antibacterial, antiseptic and antiviral effects. 2003 spring, SARS epidemic, people burned mugwort again, used for air disinfection. Our folk customs, Dragon Boat Festival hanging moxa strips, calamus, boil mugwort water bath, or spray the courtyard room corner, burning mugwort fire, burning mugwort smoke smoked inside the house, which is scientifically justified. 4.2 Modern Chinese medicine to avoid evil and dispel evil research In order to avoid evil, dispel evil to reduce the incidence of airborne infectious diseases, people have made unremitting efforts in Chinese medicine air disinfection, Chinese medicine disinfection due to low toxicity, less corrosive attention, in air disinfection has made great progress. Chinese herbal medicines commonly used for air disinfection include Atractylodes macrocephala, mugwort, Panax quinquefolium, patchouli, honeysuckle, forsythia, etc., which are mainly used for aromatizing dampness and clearing heat and detoxifying effects. Studies have shown that mugwort leaf water infusion, mugwort leaf fumigation and mugwort leaf oil have anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-mycoplasma effects, and indoor air disinfection with mugwort can reach 100% pass rate [34,35]. Zhao Ana et al [36] developed a compound Atractylodes macrocephala disinfectant using Atractylodes macrocephala extract for air disinfection and compared it with peroxyacetic acid fumigation disinfection method, Atractylodes macrocephala and mugwort leaf burning disinfection method and ultraviolet lamp irradiation disinfection method, the results showed that the disinfectant’s aerosol spray method was used for air disinfection, and its disinfection effect was similar to that of peroxyacetic acid fumigation disinfection method, but significantly better than that of Atractylodes macrocephala, mugwort leaf burning disinfection method and ultraviolet lamp irradiation disinfection method. The disinfection effect was similar to that of peroxyacetic acid fumigation, but was significantly better than that of the burning disinfection method of Atractylodes macrocephala and mugwort leaves and the UV irradiation disinfection method. Zhang [37] reported that the air disinfection solution developed with pure Chinese medicine (mainly composed of bamboo rhizome, Scutellaria baicalensis, Chai Hu, peppermint, Atractylodes ciliata, etc.) was disinfected with spray air, and its effect was similar to that of UV irradiation method and peroxyacetic acid spray method, and it was aromatic, non-irritating and harmless; Wang [38] used natural materials such as acacia rice, tea leaves, mugwort leaves, and stone Elsholtzia, etc., which were extracted and formulated into a natural air freshener using Micro sprayer (aerosol bottle) spraying volatile oil sterilization, can make the main components of the odor H2S, N H3 in the average elimination rate of 88.8% and 92.1%, respectively, 10 minutes after spraying on air hygiene bacteria elimination rate of 60.0%-92.1%, compared with the control group spray tap water difference is highly significant (P < 0.01 < span="" >). The experimental observation of He [39] found that the air disinfection effect of volatile oil of aromatic and obscene Chinese herbs (consisting of 12 drugs such as patchouli, mugwort, atractylodes, millipedium, and pelargonium) was better than UV light (P<0.05< span="">), and the sterilization rate of operating rooms, wards, and treatment rooms reached 86.1%, and had a strong bactericidal effect on Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. Tian Qiujiao [40] and other studies showed that the Chinese herbal air disinfectant made from Fritillaria, Panax quinquefolium, Dacryophyllum, Phellodendron, and Scutellaria had a 100% killing rate against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. Xu reported [41] that the air disinfectant made from 40% ethanol extracts of Dacryophyllum, Forsythia, Panax notoginseng and Radix chrysanthemum – Qinglian air disinfectant killed 91.13% of the natural bacteria in the air spray of the sick room. Zhan Xiaoping [42] et al. reported the disinfection of room air by smoke and fumigation with single herbs such as mugwort, atractylodes, and stone paltrini. These drugs are pungent, warm and aromatic, and have the effect of aromatizing and eliminating dampness. Mugwort contains volatile oil, which has bactericidal or antibacterial effects on more than 10 common bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, alpha-hemolytic streptococcus, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Mycobacterium diphtheriae, Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli, and also has different degrees of antibacterial effects on a variety of skin fungi. From the reports in recent years, it can be seen that herbs as air disinfectants have advantages that physical and chemical air disinfection methods cannot match, and China has widely carried out research on the application of herbs to prevent air microbial pollution, and has made great progress. However, there are still many problems in the development and application of herbal air disinfection products: insufficient research on the pathogenic mechanism of air microorganisms; backward monitoring and rapid identification of pathogenic microorganisms; more research on herbal disinfectants to kill bacteria, and less research on killing fungi and viruses, etc. In short, herbal air disinfection products have good development and application prospects, and can better play the Chinese medicine disease prevention and treatment The advantages The holistic concept of Chinese medicine contains distinctive and simple materialistic and dialectical ideas, emphasizing that the world is material, and the origin of the material that constitutes the world is “qi”, and only under the change of the qi of heaven and earth, there are human beings and everything in the world, and human beings and nature are a unified whole. The physiology and pathology of human beings are influenced by the natural environment, social environment and their own emotions. The holistic concept is reflected in the four aspects of Chinese medicine: deficiency, imbalance of yin and yang, internal and external correspondence, and overuse. To use the holistic concept to guide the prevention of airborne infectious diseases, it is necessary to follow the four seasons in order to complete the form, adjust the essence to guard the spirit, work on the treatment of the disease, and avoid evil and dispel evil. To improve the health and well-being of people. References [1] Anonymous. The Complete Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine [M]. Kunming: Yunnan Publishing Group, 2010,01:86. [2] Anonymous.
