Swelling of the feet is caused by sprains and trauma to the feet, resulting in increased leakage of tissue fluid under the skin and inside the joints. Swelling of the foot is manifested by pain and even impairment of joint movement. In the beginning when the foot is swollen, use cold compresses. Cold compresses can lower the local temperature of the foot, while reducing tissue fluid exudation and further expansion of foot swelling. If the foot swelling has formed after 1-2 days, use a hot compress to make the foot swelling dissipate more quickly. Use hot towels to apply hot compresses to the most obvious areas of swollen feet, several times a day. You can also soak hot water feet for hot compresses, the purpose is to accelerate blood circulation in the feet.
