The survival time of brain tumor patients after surgery depends mainly on the type of tumor and the patient’s physical condition, and cannot be generalized. Most primary brain tumors are gliomas, which are classified into grade I to grade IV, with the higher the grade, the higher the malignancy. If the tumor is benign and small, the patient will have a normal survival cycle after removal of the tumor and can be completely cured without affecting the patient’s life expectancy. If it is a low malignancy tumor, the five-year survival period can reach 80%. In case of grade III and IV tumors, it is difficult to avoid recurrence even with total surgical resection. The average survival of patients with grade III intracranial tumors is about three years, while the average survival of patients with grade IV intracranial tumors is less than one year. In addition, since brain tumor surgery requires craniotomy, open exposure of the cranial cavity may pose a risk of infection, so patients should enhance nutrition, strengthen immunity and prevent infection after surgery.
