Patient: 2007, after treatment for breast cancer. The bone scan done in September said that bone metastasis was not excluded (there was a shadow on the rib cage, the same was done in March), and the rib cage images done all said there was no abnormality, so is it possible to leave it alone? Shen Zan, Department of Medical Oncology, Shanghai Sixth People’s Hospital: Bone metastasis is more likely to occur in breast cancer and should not be taken lightly. It is recommended to check blood tumor markers: CEA, CA-125, CA15-3 and MRI. If there is significant elevation of tumor markers and bone destruction found by MRI, the diagnosis can be confirmed basically. If only the tumor markers are elevated, we should follow up closely and review every two to three months. If they continue to be elevated, we suggest puncture or PET-CT.
