How long after the imaging can have intercourse

Usually there is vaginal bleeding after the tubal imaging, so patients are advised to have intercourse after one month after the tubal imaging. The imaging test is a routine test for infertility, including iodine oil imaging of the fallopian tubes in radiology and tubal lavage under ultrasound. Fallopian tube imaging or tubal lavage mainly involves the injection of contrast agent into the body through the cervix to visualize the uterine cavity, fallopian tubes and ovaries. The contrast agent used in clinical practice is usually harmless, but after the test, patients may experience a small amount of vaginal bleeding, so it is recommended that patients have intercourse after one month to avoid inflammatory diseases of the gynecological reproductive system, such as vaginitis and pelvic inflammatory disease. In addition, if the tubal imaging procedure is performed under X-ray and there is exposure to radiation, patients are advised to use contraception for 3-6 months before pregnancy to avoid poor egg quality which may lead to fetal malformation or other adverse pregnancy outcomes.
