The ultrasound grading of thyroid nodules is divided into several grades such as 1, 2, 3 as well as 4a, 4b, 4C, etc. If a thyroid nodule is classified as grade 1 or 2, it is considered to have no risk of malignancy and can be reviewed once a year. If the thyroid nodule is grade 3, it needs to be further combined with the patient’s personal situation, medical history, family history, etc. It can be reviewed regularly every six months as prescribed by the doctor to observe whether there are any significant changes in the nodule. If the nodule is a grade 4 thyroid nodule, either 4a or 4b, surgery is recommended as a priority. If the patient is resistant to surgical treatment, short-term follow-up can be done, such as intermittent follow-up every three months, or bacterial cytology aspiration can be done to further test the benignity and malignancy, and if it is malignant, surgical treatment should be actively given.
