Do adrenal tumors hurt?

Adrenal tumors rarely cause painful symptoms, but the large size of the tumor can compress or stimulate the local area and produce intermittent back pain, or malignant tumors of the adrenal gland may produce back pain. However, the majority of adrenal tumors are benign and are often detected by physical examination or secondary conditions such as hypertension or cardiac arrhythmia. Most adrenal tumors have endocrine function, which can secrete epinephrine, norepinephrine, dopamine or cortisol, so they often have hypertension, obesity or hormone metabolism disorders. They are often found during physical examination in cardiology department due to hypertension or arrhythmia, and are rarely diagnosed due to pain caused by compression of surrounding organs caused by tumor growth to a certain extent.
