Can you work out with gout

Appropriate physical exercise can improve patients’ blood uric acid levels and reduce the number of gout attacks. It is recommended that patients should mainly take low-intensity aerobic exercise, while moderate-to-high intensity physical exercise may reduce blood uric acid excretion, which in turn may lead to an increase in blood uric acid levels, which in turn will increase the incidence of gout. For gout patients, it is recommended that physical exercise should be carried out 4-5 times a week, each time for about half an hour to an hour, mainly with aerobic exercise. The beginning of the exercise should be gradually transitioned from low intensity to medium intensity, and must avoid strenuous exercise, because strenuous exercise will increase sweating and reduce renal blood flow, which in turn will reduce blood uric acid excretion and may induce an acute attack of gout. After exercise, patients should drink an appropriate amount of water to promote the excretion of uric acid.
