Without chemotherapy for lung cancer, the tumor will increase significantly locally and is prone to distant metastasis, and it is difficult to control when lung cancer has distant metastasis. The local enlargement of tumor may invade surrounding tissues and organs, accompanied by liver metastasis, bone metastasis and brain metastasis, i.e. advanced lung cancer, so chemotherapy for lung cancer is very necessary. Treatment of lung cancer includes local treatment and systemic treatment. Chemotherapy can both control local growth of tumor and stop metastasis of tumor cells in blood. Combined with radiotherapy for primary lesions can better control distant metastasis of tumor cells.
