Usually a few days of rest after a cervical biopsy

The rest period after cervical biopsy is usually about 3 days, depending on the patient’s condition. Cervical biopsy is an invasive test that uses a cervical forceps to remove a portion of cervical tissue from the site of the lesion and then sends it to the pathology department for testing to help confirm the lesion. It is used clinically to assist in the diagnosis of women with suspected cervical lesions. Usually, there is a little vaginal bleeding after cervical biopsy. In addition, patients should rest for about three days after cervical biopsy to help the wound heal, or longer if the patient is weak or needs further treatment. Patients are advised to eat a light diet after the biopsy and to keep the vulva and vagina clean and hygienic, and to prohibit sitting in the bath, intercourse and weight bearing during the recovery period.
