How to determine if you can still grow taller

Generally speaking, there are many factors that affect the growth of a human body, such as genetics and environment, etc. The main factor to determine whether a child can still grow taller is whether the epiphysis is closed. After puberty, the epiphysis will gradually close and stop growing after it closes. Therefore, to determine whether you can still grow taller, you can go to the hospital to take X-rays to clarify whether the epiphysis is closed. Usually, the human body has a certain pattern of height growth; after the age of 2, the length of an infant can generally reach 85cm, and then grows 5-8cm per year; after puberty begins, boys grow 7-9cm per year, with an average growth of 25-28cm throughout puberty; girls grow 6-8cm per year, with an average growth of 23-25cm throughout puberty. After adolescence (rapid growth period), the height growth decelerates rapidly, and after the epiphysis closes, the height will not increase anymore. To avoid being affected by some factors in height growth, the following matters should be noted: 1. treat the cause: children with endocrine dysfunction affecting height can use alternative treatment, and those with other diseases affecting height growth also need timely treatment; 2. ensure adequate nutrition: in addition to supplementing various kinds of high-quality protein and sufficient energy, attention should be paid to the supplementation of trace elements, especially zinc and calcium, which can promote growth 3, ensure sufficient sleep: several studies have proved that the human body will release a large amount of growth hormone during sleep, and the release of growth hormone will stimulate the rapid growth of bones; 4, moderate exercise: exercise can stimulate the release of growth hormone, while promoting the growth of bones. Especially in children before puberty and adolescence can be appropriate running, jumping, stretching and other movements, which is beneficial to height growth, but weight-bearing exercise or muscle exercise is not recommended; 5, mental factors: growing in a free and stress-free environment helps children’s growth and development, because mental pleasure is conducive to the release of growth hormone.
