Cervical cancer screening in the days after menstruation

Cervical cancer screening can be done after menstruation, as long as you avoid menstruation, when there is less discharge and the satisfaction of taking specimens will be increased. Cervical cancer screening includes two tests, namely cervical TCT and cervical HPV, which have different meanings and cannot replace each other: 1. Cervical TCT: i.e. cervical fluid-based thin layer cell test, whose advantage is to detect precancerous lesions in the period without conscious symptoms and to carry out clinical diagnosis and treatment early in the non-cancerous period, so as to prevent and stop the occurrence of cancer and achieve early detection and early treatment; 2. Cervical HPV 2. Cervical HPV: To detect HPV infection in the cervix, if type 16 and 18 are present, it is a high-risk type, which can cause cervical cancer and cervical intraepithelial lesions, and further colposcopy is needed. If the result is negative, HPV infection can be prevented by cervical cancer vaccine, including bivalent, quadrivalent and nine-valent cervical cancer vaccines, and the appropriate vaccine can be selected according to age. It is still important to have regular gynecological checkups after vaccination because it cannot stop all types of HPV infections.
