Can early stage uterine adenocarcinoma be cured?

Early stage uterine adenocarcinoma can be cured. Clinically speaking, cure is measured by 5-year survival rate, and a patient is considered cured if he or she lives beyond 5 years. Early stage uterine adenocarcinoma is mainly treated by surgery, and according to the postoperative pathological stage, it is then determined whether the patient needs adjuvant radiotherapy or chemotherapy to help prolong the survival period. If there are some high-risk factors, supplementary treatment, i.e. radiotherapy and chemotherapy, must be actively used. Of course, the means of complementary treatment varies according to the individual and the gynecologic oncologist’s opinion needs to be followed. The 5-year survival rate of early endometrial adenocarcinoma can reach 90%, but after pathological detection with some high-risk factors, such as cancer foci invading the cervix or having lymphatic metastasis, the 5-year survival rate may drop to 50% or even to about 30%. Therefore, the survival rate of patients varies according to different conditions, and of course the survival rate of advanced endometrioid adenocarcinoma is very low.
