What are the symptoms of cervical cancer?

For early stage cervical cancer, there may not be any specific symptoms, just an increase in discharge or bleeding after intercourse, while advanced stage cervical cancer often causes significant pain in the lower abdomen or vaginal vulva. For patients with early stage cervical cancer, since the cancer cells are only proliferating locally in the cervix and have not metastasized to other places outside the cervix, they will not cause obvious pain at this time. It may also be accompanied by a foul odor. Usually, after intercourse or gynecological examination, contact bleeding may occur, and the bleeding may be prolonged and heavy. For postmenopausal women, irregular vaginal bleeding may occur. For women with menstruation, it may lead to increased menstrual flow and prolonged menstrual period. For women with advanced cervical cancer, due to the spread of cancer cells everywhere, it often causes frequent, urgent and painful urination, as well as obvious pain in the vagina, and it also leads to weight loss and even cachexia. Therefore, the symptoms of cervical cancer vary from person to person, and the diagnosis should be confirmed by surgical biopsy instead of judging the specific stage based on the symptoms.
