How long can you live with pyelonephritis?

The length of time one can live with pyelonephritis depends on the treatment and individual patient factors, and cannot be generalized. Pyelonephritis is a common infectious disease of the urinary tract and can be clinically divided into acute pyelonephritis and chronic pyelonephritis according to the course of the disease. In chronic pyelonephritis, the long course of the disease may lead to renal insufficiency, but the damage to the kidneys progresses relatively slowly, so the survival time is also longer. Alternatively, if the causative agent is very specific and complicated by renal papillary necrosis, sepsis, diabetes mellitus, etc., the patient’s survival life expectancy will be correspondingly shortened and may be only about 10-20 years. It is recommended to go to a regular hospital nephrology department to receive standard treatment after the diagnosis of pyelonephritis, pay attention to a light diet and maintain an optimistic attitude towards life. For those with impaired kidney function, you can take Chinese medicine to protect kidney function.
