This other group of patients, most of whom are finally diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome. One of the typical symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome is numbness confined to the radial side of the thumb, index finger, middle finger and ring finger (the side near the middle finger). Therefore the sensation on both sides of the ring finger is inconsistent, which is different from the numbness caused by cervical spondylosis. Of course, other ancillary tests are needed to finally confirm the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome.
