Amniocentesis results do not show male or female. Amniocentesis is a prenatal diagnostic procedure in which a fine needle penetrates the wall of the uterus to extract amniotic fluid and examine the DNA of the fetus. It is recommended that the amniotic fluid be extracted around 16 to 20 weeks of pregnancy. At this stage, there is more amniotic fluid and the fetus floats in the middle of the amniotic fluid, so it is not easy to puncture the fetus during the extraction of amniotic fluid. The purpose of amniocentesis is to check whether there is any abnormality in the DNA of the fetus, and will not check the sex of the male or female. It is also clearly stipulated in China that gender identification for non-medical purposes is prohibited, and women in labor should not ask medical personnel about the sex of the fetus. It is recommended that after the amniocentesis procedure, pregnant mothers should pay more attention to rest, do not exercise too much, and do not carry heavy objects to avoid affecting the health of pregnant women as well as the fetus.
