Is a blind patient aware?

In acute blindness the patient is clearly able to become aware. When both eyes are blind, the patient has difficulty moving. In chronic blindness in one eye, most patients often do not feel it, and often only “suddenly” notice that the eye is missing when they unintentionally block the good eye.
