Watery stools in the form of jets are most often seen in acute enteritis or cholera. These two diseases are mostly caused by bacterial infections. The former disease is a common intestinal infection and requires laboratory tests for stool routine plus blood tests for clarification. After the diagnosis is confirmed, anti-infective drugs such as levofloxacin lactate or cephalosporin III should be used for treatment. Because of the ejection of stool, it can cause dehydration and electrolyte disorders, so it is best to go to the hospital for fluid infusion to replenish water and electrolytes. In the latter case, cholera, mostly caused by Vibrio cholerae, is a category A infectious disease with an acute onset, often accompanied by abdominal pain and muscle aches, and experience of contact with cholera patients. After the diagnosis is confirmed, it is necessary to go to the hospital as soon as possible to get a lot of fluids to replenish water and electrolytes, as well as anti-infection treatment.
