Sleeping in the wrong position can lead to scoliosis?

Sleeping in the wrong position does not lead to scoliosis, scoliosis can be divided into congenital scoliosis, idiopathic scoliosis, degenerative scoliosis, etc. according to the cause. Scoliosis has a variety of causes, the specific pathogenesis is not completely clear, its occurrence and the patient’s age, neuromuscular function, bone development, trauma and genetic factors are related, generally considered to be caused by a combination of systemic or local factors, there is no absolute relationship with sleeping position. There is no particular strict sleeping position for children with scoliosis. But from a physiological point of view, because the human spine in lying down when the spinal pressure is the smallest, supine position will be less pressure. Generally, even in the supine position, it is not possible to sleep in one position at night. There is no standard answer to the question of how to sleep in the best position, the sleeping position varies from person to person, there is no such thing as the best position. Therefore, children with scoliosis do not deliberately require a supine position or a lateral position. Side lying and supine are both possible, there are no special requirements for sleeping positions.
