Does pregnancy diarrhea affect the fetus?

Diarrhea is often referred to as diarrhea in clinical practice. Whether diarrhea can affect the fetus needs to be judged in relation to the degree of diarrhea. If the symptoms are mild, the fetus will not be affected. If the symptoms are more severe, it may affect the fetus. During pregnancy, an occasional episode of diarrhea will not have a significant effect on the fetus. If a pregnant woman has significant diarrhea, the condition is serious, especially dehydration and acidosis, which is not good for the growth and development of the fetus. Moreover, prolonged and severe abdominal pain can cause uterine contractions, which can lead to the occurrence of preterm abortion in serious cases. Therefore, pregnant women are advised to have timely treatment when diarrhea occurs. During pregnancy, care should be taken to avoid eating raw, cold, spicy and unhygienic food to avoid diarrhea. During diarrhea, pregnant women are advised to eat easy-to-digest, light foods and drink light saline to replenish potassium ions if necessary.
