What to do if you have multiple thyroid nodules

When the thyroid gland is accompanied by multiple nodules, different clinical management methods can be used depending on the size and location of the nodules.1. If the thyroid nodules are small in size and superficial in location, the nodules are classified as 1-3 by ultrasound examination. Most of them suggest that the nodules are benign lesions and do not cause serious complications. It is recommended that patients should have their thyroid ultrasound reviewed once every 3-6 months and no special treatment is needed for the time being. 2. If the thyroid nodules are large in size, they may cause localized tracheal and esophageal compression. Even if the nodules are benign, patients are advised to undergo surgery in time to avoid serious complications. 3. If multiple thyroid nodules are found to have an aspect ratio greater than 1, with obvious calcification foci and blood flow signals, ultrasound examination often indicates that the nodules are cancerous. Patients are recommended to undergo radical thyroid cancer treatment as soon as possible, and lymph nodes should be cleared during surgery.
