Patients with swollen lymph nodes in the groin that do not go away should be treated according to their individual circumstances. If the patient only presents with swollen lymph nodes, the swollen lymph nodes are considered to be caused by a chronic non-specific infection with no other adverse symptoms and no disruption to normal life, and can be observed conservatively for a period of time. If the patient is complicated by severe symptoms as well as systemic symptoms, he or she should seek active medical treatment.
