For patients with type 1 diabetes for more than 5 years and all patients with type 2 diabetes, the urinary albumin excretion rate should be checked annually from the time of diagnosis.  2.For all adult diabetic patients, regardless of their urinary albumin excretion rate, serum creatinine should be measured at least once a year.  3, the clinical method of urinary microalbumin excretion rate is mostly used. Inpatients can take 24-hour urine for testing; while outpatients can take morning urine and check the ratio of urinary albumin/creatinine for judgment.  When checking 24-hour urine albumin, the method of urine retention: go to the bathroom at 7:00 a.m. sharp on the day of urine retention and urinate once, discard this urine, then start to urinate in the urine bucket as long as there is urine, until 7:00 a.m. sharp the next day and urinate again in the urine bucket. The weight (or volume) of the urine in the bucket is measured, then the urine in the bucket is shaken well and a small tube is taken and sent to the hospital for testing.  Note: Pour the antiseptic into the urine bucket whenever there is urine in the bucket.
