How long does it take to get the results of cervical cancer screening

The results of cervical cancer screening are usually available in 2-3 working days and are mainly used to find out if you have cervical cancer and precancerous lesions. Under normal circumstances, if a woman experiences bleeding during intercourse or blood in the leukorrhea, it is recommended to go to the hospital for cervical cancer screening. The test includes cervical TCT (i.e. thin layer liquid-based cytology test) and HPV (i.e. human papillomavirus test), and it usually takes 2-3 days for the results to be available. If the results suggest atypical squamous cells in the cervical epithelium, patients are advised to undergo a cervical biopsy and choose an appropriate treatment plan based on the test results. If the test result is normal, it is recommended to have cervical cancer screening once a year. In addition, cervical cancer screening should avoid menstruation, and patients need to abstain from intercourse for more than 3 days, and no vaginal irrigation or medication should be used within 24 hours.
