What is the white solid coming out of the abscess?

The white solid squeezed out of the abscess is a pus plug formed by the secretion of sebaceous glands. Pus pockets are caused by infection and will show redness, swelling, pain, or pus flow. Because of some inflammatory reactions, the pus in the abscess is concentrated locally to form a pus-like solid, which is blocked at the opening to form a pus plug, and what is squeezed out may be a white or dark-colored substance. Pus is formed in the epidermis after the infection of the soft tissue of the skin, and it is recommended not to squeeze it by hand to prevent secondary infection from spreading to the surrounding skin, causing generalized hyperthermia, which may lead to sepsis in severe cases. In milder cases, the abscess can be applied topically with antibiotic ointment, such as ichthyolite ointment, erythromycin ointment, mupirocin ointment, etc. If the situation is more serious and the abscess embolus is located deeper, timely surgical debridement treatment is needed and the deep pus will be drained out to remove the necrotic tissue inside. If the pus plug is not cleanly removed, it is difficult for the wound to heal effectively.
