Who are the people most vulnerable to liver cancer?

  Right subcostal pain is often referred to as hepatic pain. Pain in this area is commonly associated with hepatitis, cholecystitis, cirrhosis and liver cancer.  Liver cancer starts insidiously and develops rapidly, and some patients are diagnosed with liver cancer only after the right subcostal pain lasts for several months. Therefore, right subcostal pain should be regarded as a sign of liver cancer.  Alert groups: people with cirrhosis, chronic hepatitis B or C, and people who have liver cancer in their family. Among them, hepatitis B is the most important causative factor of liver cancer in China, and the average age of onset is about 55 years old.  Measures for early detection: Initial liver cancer has few symptoms, so it is recommended that patients in high-risk groups should go to the hospital once every 4 months to have blood tests for alpha-fetoprotein and liver ultrasound, and then have further angiography, CT or liver aspiration cytology to confirm the diagnosis if the disease is suspected. The positive rate of alpha-fetoprotein test in diagnosing early primary liver cancer is 70%-90%.  Preventive measures: For people over 35 years old with positive hepatitis B surface antigen, chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis of the liver for more than 5 years, and family history of liver cancer in three generations of immediate family members, testing fetoprotein and liver ultrasound every six months is the most effective way to detect liver cancer at an early stage. In addition, hepatitis B vaccination; blood transfusion to ensure that the blood products are not infected by hepatitis virus. Alcohol is also a major enemy in triggering liver cancer, so you should quit drinking to prevent liver cancer.
