This is a predictive line graph from the NRG Oncology/Gynecologic Oncology Group Randomized Trials of Chemoradiotherapy for progression-free survival, overall survival, and pelvic recurrence in focal advanced cervical cancer (IB-IVA), published in JCO. This study provides a very useful tool for clinical practice. The authors retrospectively analyzed a total of 2042 patients with focal advanced cervical cancer who received concurrent platinum-based radiotherapy. Visual line plots of 2-year PFS, 5-year OS, and pelvic recurrence were produced using a Cox proportional risk regression model. The models were confirmed by corrected, relatively unbiased assessment of distinctions and corrections. Multiparametric analysis identified relevant prognostic factors including: histological type, race/ethnicity, performance status, tumor size, FIGO stage, tumor grade, pelvic lymph node status, and concurrent platinum-based chemotherapy. The concordance indices for PFS, OS and pelvic recurrence were 0.62, 0.64 and 0.73, respectively, and were well calibrated. The corresponding line plots and calibration curves are shown below.
