How long does it usually take for cervical cancer to recur after surgery

There is a possibility of recurrence after cervical cancer surgery, and most recurrences occur within 2 years after cervical cancer surgery. The prognosis of cervical cancer is closely related to the clinical stage, pathological type and the presence or absence of lymph node metastasis. If early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment, early surgery with adjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy can cure cervical cancer with better prognosis. After cervical cancer surgery, one should improve one’s immunity, change previous bad habits, strengthen physical exercise, and actively follow up to determine whether the lesion is recurrent or progressing through cytological examination and virus detection. After surgery, it is recommended to review every 3-6 months for 2 years; every 6 months for 3-5 years; and every year from the 6th year. Cervical cancer is a preventable tumor, which can be prevented by HPV vaccination, regular cervical cancer screening, and enhancing one’s knowledge of hygiene.
