How many years can you live after laryngeal cancer surgery?

If laryngeal cancer is detected early and given timely and regular treatment, most 5-year survival rates can be over 80%. Laryngeal cancer can be divided into supraglottic laryngeal cancer, glottic laryngeal cancer and subglottic laryngeal cancer according to the site of occurrence, and the malignancy degree and survival rate of each type of malignant tumor are different. Supraglottic laryngeal cancer is prone to lymph node metastasis, and early diagnosis is difficult. Vocal hilar laryngeal cancer is easy to be detected in early stage, and if early laser surgery or partial laryngectomy is performed, the 5-year survival rate can reach about 90%, and the 5-year survival rate of middle and late stage is about 70%. Meanwhile, patients with better health and strong resistance generally have a better prognosis. In addition, patients are advised to ensure proper indoor air humidity during treatment, follow the doctor’s instructions to change and take medication on time after surgery, and maintain an optimistic and positive attitude.
