According to Teng Weiping, director of the Endocrinology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, due to the lack of public awareness of thyroid disease, less than 5% of patients with thyroid disease in China have received standardized treatment. The reason for this situation is that, on the one hand, the symptoms of thyroid disease are insidious, and many patients equate this disease with sub-health; on the other hand, because the popularization of thyroid disease has just started, many patients do not know enough about the disease, and as a result, their condition is delayed. According to the data, there are 10 million hyperthyroidism patients, 90 million hypothyroidism patients and more than 100 million thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer patients in China, and it is conservatively estimated that there are more than 200 million thyroid disease patients in China. As the second most common disease in the endocrine field, the public should have regular thyroid ultrasound examinations for early detection of the disease. At the same time, in view of the current situation that the awareness and treatment rates of thyroid diseases in China are very low, it is urgent to carry out health education and popularize thyroid knowledge. At present, less than 5% of patients with thyroid disease receive standardized treatment.
