The source of the new coronavirus cannot yet be determined, and while some of the initial cases last December were associated with the South China Seafood Market, other initial cases did not have contact with that market and there is no evidence that the source of the outbreak is China. Coronavirus is a global phenomenon that exists worldwide and should not be pursued for its geographic origin, but rather focus on how to respond and contain the virus. Now that the outbreak is beginning to spread globally, countries should undertake outbreak prevention and control and take aggressive actions to effectively control the spread of the virus.
