IgA nephropathy is currently the most common primary glomerular disease worldwide, and in China, IgA nephropathy accounts for 45% of primary glomerular disease, which means that nearly half of all patients with primary kidney disease in our country have IgA nephropathy. The most common manifestations of IgA nephropathy patients are hematuria (either hematuria visible to the naked eye or hematuria detected by routine urinalysis) and proteinuria, and some patients will also develop chronic renal failure. So what should patients with IgA nephropathy pay attention to in terms of diet? For patients with normal kidney function, who only show hematuria or (and) proteinuria, they can have a normal healthy and clean diet without any special blood or protein supplementation. For patients with renal failure, it is important to pay attention to a high quality low protein diet, low salt diet, low phosphorus diet and control water intake.
