What is artificial insemination? Artificial insemination is a method of artificially injecting male semen into the cervix or uterine cavity of a woman to assist in conception. There are two types of artificial insemination: interspousal and non-spousal. In case the male partner has sexual organ abnormalities, such as short penis, hypospadias, impotence, premature ejaculation, or minor weak spermatozoa, etc. Or in patients with severe cervicitis, mucus abnormalities, and positive anti-sperm antibody infertility in the female partner. The female partner has cervical stenosis, normal reproductive system and is eager to get pregnant, etc. Interspousal artificial insemination is available. If the male partner has obstruction of the vas deferens and no sperm, non-spousal artificial insemination can be used. If the female partner is older than 40 years old, inflammation of the urinary tract, genital malformation of the female partner and other systemic diseases are not suitable for artificial insemination.
