Diet after liver cancer treatment

Interventional therapy is one of the best methods to treat middle and late stage liver cancer. In our hospital, we have been carrying out interventional treatment for liver cancer for 20 years. In our work, we often encounter patients asking how to carry out dietary adjustment after liver cancer interventional treatment, so here is a brief introduction of dietary methods for patients after interventional treatment. Patients with hepatocellular carcinoma often have poor appetite and do not think about eating after interventional treatment, so in the process of care, we should focus on improving patients’ appetite and encouraging them to eat. Give high protein, high calorie, high vitamin and low fat food, such as lean meat, fish, poultry and eggs, dairy products, soybean products, fresh vegetables and fruits, etc. Limit the intake of animal oil. Diversify the diet, pay attention to the food mix, to achieve the color, aroma and taste, in order to promote appetite. Eating should be easy to digest soft food, avoid hard, spicy products, less fried food, a small number of meals. Avoid irritating and vegetable fiber foods, which may cause rupture of esophageal or fundic vein bleeding in patients with cirrhosis. Eat more fresh vegetables and fruits and use juice drinks to supplement vitamins. Drink more water in febrile patients to facilitate heat distribution. Those with frequent vomiting should be temporarily fasted to avoid food irritation to the stomach, increase the number of vomiting, and consume energy. Patients with ascites should limit sodium intake and be given a low-salt or salt-free diet. Patients in pre-hepatic coma or hepatic coma should be given a low protein diet with a total of 20-40g of protein per day, and try to use animal proteins with high physiological value, such as milk, eggs, lean meat, etc. Here, the following two foods are highlighted. Fu Ling steamed Mandarin fish: After liver cancer intervention, there will be a lot of drug toxin residue in liver cancer patients. Mandarin fish is calm in nature, which is good for the spleen and stomach. When combined with Fu Ling, it also reflects the principle of clear tonic in Chinese medicine and is not easy to get on fire. The first thing to do is to prepare 15 grams of Poria, Mandarin fish, ginger and green onions, pounding Poria into pieces, and then pull a few slits on the clean Mandarin fish, then cut the ginger and green onions into shreds and set aside, and then the Poria powder evenly smeared on the body and belly of Mandarin fish, the ginger and green onion shreds over the fish, so that the preparation of Poria steamed Mandarin fish is ready. Then the prepared Mandarin fish on the pot with high heat, steamed on 10 minutes, the fish out of the pot, and then the fish steamed juice with some soy sauce into a small pot, and then according to their taste put some salt, well adjusted and poured on the fish, so that this Fu Ling steamed Mandarin fish can be eaten. Sea cucumber porridge: Modern medicine proves that the unique composition of sea cucumber can resist the specific lesions of tissue culture cells caused by herpes simplex virus (HSV), and is more effective than conventional drugs in the conversion of “triple positive” and restoration of liver function in patients with malignant hepatitis. In addition, sea cucumber has the function of nourishing stomach yin, liver and kidney, so it is suitable for liver disease patients, especially for those with low plasma protein. After soaking and simmering the sea cucumber until it is very rotten, eat the meat and drink the soup, which is a high protein diet. And some studies have shown that sea cucumber is rich in gum, which can improve blood clotting function for patients with liver cirrhosis with hypersplenism and bleeding tendency in appropriate amount. Sea cucumber contains trace elements: selenium. Selenium can avoid the damage of peroxide. It can enhance the immune function, repair the damaged tissue cells and protect them from viral invasion. Sea cucumber contains not only active substances needed by human body, but also acidic mucopolysaccharide, sea cucumber saponin, and 18 kinds of amino acids, which can improve the immunity, anti-fatigue, and slow down the aging of blood, which are important for the recovery of liver patients.
