What are the signs of the prodromal phase of schizophrenia?

   Abnormal fear: avoidance of physical harm, fear of being attacked (social phobia); disorganized and irrelevant speech: no theme in expression; absurd and anachronistic behavior: preoccupation, purposeless behavior, odd appearance; diminished emotional and social responses: depression, reticence, low energy, mild dementia.  2. Significantly reduced functioning: unexplained reduction in work and learning ability; reduced attention and motivation; reduced ability to handle personal hygiene; reduced ability to cope with life events and stress.  3. alienation from family and friends loss of interest in friends, amateur sports or hobbies; increased alienation, self-isolation; family estrangement, resentment, increased hostility, paranoia.
