How long do sperm survive in the body and still have the ability to conceive?

The survival time of sperm in the female body is about 24-48 hours, and the fertilization capacity can be maintained for about 20 hours, but there are some individual differences. The survival time of sperm in the vagina does not exceed 8 hours. Sperm entering the uterine cavity and fallopian tubes can die within 24-36 hours, while those stored in the cervical mucosa can live for 2-6 days. The spermatozoa that have just entered the female reproductive tract do not have the ability to fertilize the egg and need to undergo a process of “energization” to eliminate the de-energizing factor in their heads before they can gain the ability to fertilize, a process that takes about 7 hours. The fertilized sperm and egg unite in the fallopian tube to form a fertilized egg, called fertilization. In addition, if you want to conceive successfully, you should try to have intercourse during ovulation and raise your hips after internal ejaculation to increase the chances of successful conception.
