Abdominal CT cannot detect lung disease. The purpose of abdominal CT is to examine the abdominal organs, and if you want to check for lung disease with CT, you need to take a chest CT.
Abdominal CT (electron computed tomography) may see the lower corners of both lungs, but it is not used to diagnose lung disease.
Abdominal CT can be used to check for lesions occurring in abdominal organs such as the liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, small intestine, colon, and stomach, such as appendicitis, gastrointestinal tumors, pancreatitis, pancreatic tumors, hepatic cysts, hepatic hemangiomas, hepatocellular carcinomas, rectal polyps, colorectal carcinomas, and abdominal aortic aneurysms.
Chest CT can be used to detect chest wall diseases, lung diseases, pleural diseases, mediastinal diseases etc.
If you suspect that you have a lung disease, it is recommended that you seek medical attention.
